When you report a problem on Downscanner, you pick a reason from a dropdown — Login, App, Streaming, Website. Those options are tailored to each service, but they cannot cover everything. Here is what to do when yours is not there.
Select "Other"
On any status page, open the reason dropdown and choose Other. A short text box appears asking a simple question: Reason not listed? Suggest it here.
It is entirely optional. You can submit an "Other" report without typing anything at all, and it still counts toward the service's status. But if you add a note, it tells us what the dropdown is missing.
Why Bother Describing It
Every reason in those dropdowns started as a pattern someone noticed. When enough people report the same unlisted problem for the same service, that reason becomes a proper option — which makes future reports faster to submit and the resulting data more precise.
In other words, the note you leave today is how the dropdown gets better tomorrow.
Things That Might Not Have an Option Yet
Some examples of problems that often fall outside the standard list:
- Notifications not arriving
- Stuck on a loading screen
- A specific error message appearing
- Some features missing while the rest works fine
- Working on one device but not another
- Broken only on mobile data, or only on Wi-Fi
Keep It Short
The box holds 100 characters — enough for one clear sentence. A live counter shows how much room is left, and turns amber as you approach the limit.
Short and specific beats long and vague. "Notifications stopped after the update" is more useful than a paragraph of detail.
One Request About Privacy
Please do not include your name, email address, account details or anything else identifying. We do not need it to understand an outage, and it is not useful for improving the dropdown. Describe the problem, not yourself.
